A Pair of Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
